Legal ‘Jaywalking’ Stars in Denver--Policemen urged pedestrians to cut across corners today as Denver launched a new traffic control program at busy intersections. Under the plan, everybody crosses streets when a special “walk” light flashes. All traffic is halted during the period. Then pedestrians wait while vehicles move, first on one street and then on the other. Twenty-three extra policemen were on duty to help bewildered residents get the idea.
