A modern Gothic church with a square tower and high pinnacles dominates a row of small houses in course of demolition. The whole foreground is already laid waste, and navvies with their carts are employed in excavating and clearing away the rubbish. A number of slight lines, slanting from right to left, have been added in the sky to right of the tower. The unfinished house on the extreme right and the chimneys of the other houses between it and the church have been completed. The side of the tower adjoining the aforesaid houses is more shaded. Additional lines in the foreground. These alterations were made in 1907.
