The U.S. Army's Far East Psychological Warfare branch disclosed today that a woman civilian employee has been "allowed to resign" because of alleged Communist sympathies. Colonel K.K. Hansen, chief of the Far East Psychological Warfare branch, said that the civilian and a soldier "started talking up the Communist line" after attending a lecture on Red China at Tokyo's Harvard Club. The civilian later identified herself as Joan Dieter, a former resident of Whittier, Calif. Her job was described as a woman script writer for psychological warfare broadcasts.
