Jim Ryun, the sensational miler from Lawrence, Kansas, walks off the track and out of the stadium with his wife after completing only one lap in the four-lap race during the AAU National Outdoor Championships here 6/29. Ryun did not explain his reasons for quitting the race as he walked directly to his car and drove off. The race was won by rival Marty Liquori.
