“Little Poison” Paul Runyan (right) of White Plains, N. Y., played 196 holes in the National P. G. A. championship at Shawnee-on-Delaware and defeated Slugging Sam Snead (left) of White Sulphur Springs, West Va., by the spacious score of 8 and 7 in the final yesterday to get this trophy; and now that he has it, he seems to be wondering what to do with it. It’s too big to drink from, and just a trifle too small to take a bath in, but he was aware of the consequences of winning the thing, because he did once before, in 1934. Runyan succeeds Denny Shute of Brea Burn as possessor of the jug.
