Jet Heads Toward Hurricane 'Eye'--A Navy jet from the Jacksonville, Fla., base heads away from camera and into rough weather yesterday (Aug. 9) on a Hurricane Connie photo flight. The black cloud-like section stretching across the center of the photo is turbulence caused by the "eye" located at this time about 400 miles east of Jacksonville. The "eye" was later recorded on film by the pilots and flown to Washington where the Navy distributed prints which were transmitted by the Associated Press.
