Inside a Lighthouse-The massive Fresnel lens of the Gay Head Lighthouse on Martha's Vineyard which contains 1003 prisms may be brought to Boston's new Museum of Science, since Coast Guard plans to electrify the gasoline light would make the lens obsolete. Rotation of prisms, visible at right, account for the beacon's distinctive three white and one red flash.
