Detroit -- Earl A. Thomas, 45-year-old draftsman, shown in the hospital after he was found lying bloody and battered in an apartment building yesterday. Joan (Rusty) Wierda, left, 17, a high school student, and four young men are being held in jail for the robbery-beating. Detective Lt. Lee Watts said Miss Wierda admitting carving her initials on the back of the semiconscious victim because "I hate my father and he looks like him.".
