Indians Dedicate Grand Canyon Tower. Rising from a rocky promontory at desert view point on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this recently completed structure, re-creating an ancient watchtower of the southwest, was dedicated in a ceremonial by Hopi Indians. May 13. More than 1,500 came to watch the mysterious Indian rites. The ceremony was made colorful by Hopi chants, and dancing to the thump of tom-toms.
