Japanese Sailors Rescued at Sea Their own lifeboats disabled, members of the crew of the Japanese freighter Hokuman Maru, which foundered Jan. 21 off Cape Flattery near the Washington coast, are shown being rescued by a lifeboat put out from the S. S. President Jackson, which answered the freighter's distress signals. The entire crew of 45 was saved.
