A man in a shirt comes from a house in flames, carrying a child at right, two women scarcely dress, kneeling, and lamenting beside a cradle; in the background, in place of a cart, there is a heap consisting of a wheel, a mattress, a clock, etc. Published in "l'Art," no. 94 of October 15, 1876, with the inscription "A. Legros, inv. Et sculp. L'Incendie. Imp. A. Salmon, Paris"
