Klan Hearing Witnesses--William O. Perkins, left, of Northport, Ala., and Frederick G. Smith, of Fayette, Ala., testify today at a House Un-American Activities Committee hearing during a probe of the Ku Klux Klan. The committee identified Perkins as a present or former secretary and treasurer or former secretary-treasurer of the United Klan. Both invoked constitutional protection in refusing to answer question.

Something Unique in the way of a Hollywood premiere was introduced in the movie capitol by Rosalind Russell and Jimmie Stewart, when they opened their new radio play, “First Love.” The two stars secured the names of a hundred engaged couples from the “Intention-to-Wed” columns of the Los Angeles newspapers and invited them as honor guests to their first broadcast. The two stars (center-front row), are pictures as they instruct a group of the honor guests in the proper closeup technique for use in their future married life.
