Jane Spaulding, 24, murdered in New Garden City, N.Y.

Garden City, L.I...Jane H. Spaulding, 24, (above), daughter of a wealthy A.T.&T. executive, was shot last night in her Garden City, L.I., home as she sat at the dinner table with her family. Jailed in the shooting was William Pflugfelder, 29, whom police described as a rejected suitor. Miss Spaulding was taken to Nassau hospital, L.I., where her condition was described as critical.
