In Healthier Days Colonel Jacob Ruppert, wealthy brewer and owner of the New York Yankees baseball club, was so critically ill in New York, Jan. 10 that a priest administered extreme unction when it appeared the well known sportsman was near death. His condition was slightly improved later but still "dangerous". Above photo shown Colonel Ruppert in better days.
