Rowlandson, Thomas, 1756-1827 · June 20, 1786
An uncoloured print of a scene at Drury Lane Theatre, a reminiscence of James Boswell when he stood up and putting his hands to his face, imitated the sound of a cow, with great success. Boswell is on the front row and members of the audience to his right applaud whilst the man on his left recoils in revulsion.
