Images of Inner Self. The mind-altering qualities of LSD have been described in terms of horror and joy. With astonishing rapidity, the mind is flooded with bizarre images and the senses sometimes register unusual messages in which sound is seen, and color is heard. The hallucinations have made some cower in fear or become violent in fighting some imaginary threat. In this drawing, the artist seeks to capture some of the imagery of the hallucinatory experience. It is an illustration in the Food and Drug Administration pamphlet "LSD: The False Illusion."
