Mrs. Lida Caldwell is being placed into an ambulance after she was shot by a rejected suitor who had held her hostage at gunpoint in his apartment bedroom for almost two days. Mrs. Caldwell was shot in the chest by Robert Batch, her abductor, who then shot and killed himself. Doctors at the hospital said that Mrs. Caldwell's condition was good.
