Key figures at habeas corpus hearing

Cook County Sheriff Joseph Lohman (left) enters criminal court today as the hearing continued in which release on writ of habeas corpus is sought for Edward (Bennie) Bedwell (right) who was charged with murder in the deaths of the Grimes sisters. At yesterday's hearing Bedwell retracted a statement he had signed linking him with the girls' deaths, and declared he signed the statement after being beaten, kicked and threatened by the sheriff's men.
