Washington, D.C. Manacled at wrists and ankles, Earl McFarland, who is under sentence of death for the murder of Dorothy Berrand, is brought back to Washington jail's death house, from which he escaped recently. McFarland was captured in Knoxville, Tenn. He said he would try again. With him here are chief deputy U.S. marshal Michael Kearney (right), and a large force of deputies.
