How Corn Looks After Months of Drought. This corn field in Greene county, Missouri, shows how the usual fertile soil has been baked to a crisp resembling the bed of a dry river as result of almost two months of temperatures above 90 degrees. All of the Missouri has been so hard hit by the drought that emergency relief has been recommended for the entire state except a small section in southeastern Missouri.
