Boats and bathing machines are drawn up on the beach, which slopes towards the sea on the right. Near the left side is a mast, which does not extend to the top of the plate ; in the background, houses. The tall mast to the left is drawn in outline and the house in front of which it stands is seen through it. There is no shading towards the left side of the large sail or on the front of the houses that project towards the sea. The horizon line does not extend to the edge of the plate. Seated figures are slightly sketched in the foreground to the right.
