Found guilty of raping Negro girl

Norman Cannon, 19, charged with raping a 15-year-old Negro girl, was found guilty Thursday at Hattiesburg by a circuit court jury. The jury fixed punishment at life imprisonment. Cannon, shown here in courtroom, is a welder from rural community of Sumrall, Miss. Defense attorneys said case will be appealed.
