Former policeman held in auto-trunk slaying

Stephens County Attorney Hegel Branch said today county and state officers had obtained a full admission from E.L. Fowler, 36, former Duncan policeman, that he beat Helen Beavers, a waitress, to death Jan. 23 and crammed her body into the trunk of a car. Fowler is shown as he was being questioned in the Grady county jail at nearby Chickasha.
