Washington – Brilliant Performance By Senators’ Battery – Pitcher Tom Cheney, right, and his battery-mate Catcher Don Leppert of the Washington Senators, really gave the Boston Red Sox a bad time in tonight’s game in Washington. Cheney held the Red Sox to one infield hit and struck out ten. Leppert drove in five runs with three homers, in the 8-0 defeat of Boston. It was Washington’s first victory of the season after two losses.
