President Kennedy presents Young American Medals for Bravery to Shirley F. O'Neill, San Francisco, and Donald E. McGregor, Brunswick, Ga. in capital ceremony. Miss O'Neill helped bring to shore a fellow San Francisco State College student after he was attacked by a shark. He later died. McGregor was instrumental in saving lives of family of four by bringing to safety an auxiliary cabin sloop after it was grounded in Atlantic storm off coast of Georgia.

Record Drive--Dave Sime, Duke's sensation sprinter, roars toward the finish of the 220-yard dash and a world record at the Central California Assn. AAU track and field meet last night. Sime, who earlier in the meet tied the 100-yard mark for the second time, was clocked in :20.0, two-tenths of a second better than the existing record by Mel Patton. At left is Fresno State's Mike Agostini who finished five yards back in second place.
