Home Plate Acrobatics - San Francisco leftfielder Willie McCovey hits the dirt on an inside pitch in seventh inning of game last night with Cincinnati as catcher John Edwards pirouettes in attempt to trap the ball which hit McCovey's bat. Plate umpire Bill Jackowski called it a strike. The next throw started an argument when Jackowski and the third base umpire differed on the call, with McCovey eventually called out on strikes. Cincinnati won, 7 to 4.
