Mrs. Viola Elizabeth Bates, of Staffordshire, Eng., is shown as she arrived in Chicago after a flight from England to claim her grandsons. The children were orphaned last Friday when their mother, an English war bride, Mrs. Betty Cager, was shot to death by their father, Frank, who then killed himself. With Mrs. Bates here is Martin Cager, brother of the man who killed her daughter. She planned to take the children back to England in a few days, but has now changed her mind and will leave them in Chicago.
