Sheriff Cal Boies (seated left) said today that Joe S. Chavez, 42, (seated right) had admitted shooting and killing Mrs. Maria Estrella Miranda, 41, because "she was a witch whose curse blinded my wife." Boies and Chavez are examining pictures of individuals which Mrs. Miranda had collected. Standing are deputies Albert Pina (left) and George Boyd.
