Held in hammer slaying of wife, mother-in-law

Grosse Point, Mich......John A. Harding, 67-year-old Toledo businessman, is shown in a cell at Grosse Point after he told police he had killed his wife, Mildred, and her mother, Mrs. Maud Thompson, with a hammer in Toledo. Grosse Point police checked with Toledo authorities, who found the women in their home. Mrs. Harding was dead. Mrs. Thompson died later in hospital. Harding gave no reason for his act.
