Mrs. Elaine Mears,23, of Flushing, Long Island, N.Y., glares at camera (left) and weeps as she awaits hearing in alleged attempt to rob a bank in Philadelphia today. Police said she handed a bank teller a threatening note demanding money and indicating she had a gun in her handbag. The teller handed the note to a bank guard who seized the young woman. She was unarmed. U.S. Commissioner Edward Furia continued hearing until later tonight after the woman's husband arrives from New York.
