25-year-old Eleanor Deveny, wife of an army corporal now in Japan and mother of two children, is shown after she was taken into custody by Butte County authorities after eloping here with 16-year-old Ellsworth (Sonny Bob) Wisecarver. This was the youth's second elopement with a married woman older than himself, his first being when he was 14. Mrs. Deveny, like Elaine Monfredi, his first love escapade, bubbled with enthusiasm over the charms of the boy. "He's more of a man at 16," she said, "than a lot of men at 35... He's the kind of a guy every girl dreams about but seldom finds."
