Oakland, Calif.---Samuel Hutchins, 16, sits in police headquarters here after being returned from Grass Valley, California in connection with the hatchet slaying of his mother, Mrs. Evelyn S. Hutchins, 51, yesterday. Police inspector Merle Longnecker said the boy admitted hacking his mother to death, "Because she bawled me out for playing hooky."
