Fifteen-year-old Douglas Cooper Godfrey is shown entering Oakland County, Michigan, courthouse late today for preliminary hearing into the Jan. 28 killing of his mother, Mrs. Mary Godfrey, 38, with a .22-calibre gun. Douglas was held over for a Feb. 13 decision on whether he should be tried as an adult or a juvenile. Prosecutor George F. Taylor said Douglas confessed slaying his mother by firing through a kitchen window because "she tried to find excuses to keep me home."
