McClure, right, while tape recorder spells put alleged plot against him by his wife, Beatrice, who hired a detective who said he posed as a professional killer. John A. Walker, 25, center, was booked with Mrs. Gurley for investigation of conspiracy to murder. Walker, a preacher, shared the Gurley home.
