Government Salvage of Hurricane Timber in New England. Derry N.H. Woodsmen cutting the fallen hurricane timber into logs to be hauled to Adams Pond where they will be purchased by the government and stored in the pond. The timber will be released to private sawmills as the market demands it and in that way the prices on timber will be held to their proper level. It is estimated that it will take 4 yrs to put all the timber on the market.
