Government Experts Work to Make Cotton Hose Chic--A research worker in the agriculture department's experimental hosiery mill here makes an adjustment on the main battery of hosiery machines turning out several types of cotton mesh for some of the 150 styles of stockings perfected for general wear. The experts say 85 percent of the nation's hosiery machines can be adapted to the new designs and yarns, replacing silk tied up by disrupted trade relations with Japan.
