First Photo of Live Atomic Reactor -- This is a picture of the inside of a live atomic reactor, published today by the magazine Scientific American. The camera was placed by remote control and the picture was made while the reactor was immersed in water. The walls of the reactor are deep purple and there are light blue rays at the bottom. The rays are believed to be Cerenkov rays which show better through water.
