Gen. Creighton W. Abrams, deputy commander of U.S. forces in Vietnam, is shown in a 1968 photo. It was learned 3/26 that Abrams is in Washington on a secrecy-shrouded trip, presumably to discuss war strategy. Abrams has been named as a likely successor to the top U.S. commander in Vietnam, Gen. William C. Westmoreland, whom President Johnson named 3/22 to be Army Chief of Staff.
