The Basilica of St. Louis King of France and the Eero Saarinen Gateway Arch are part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial on the Mississippi Riverfront. The 630-foot stainless steel arch is the tallest monument in the United States. The Old Cathedral begun in 1831 is the third church built on ground set aside for religious use in 1764 when the city was founded.
