Ex-priest backs position of church

Walter A. Ryan, 57, (above) a former Roman Catholic priest whose life contends was forced into a monastery against his will by church officials denied in San Francisco yesterday, that the Church had anything to do with his decision to leave her. Ryan, object of a search since his wife made her charges in a $2.3 million suit against the Catholic Church, told reporters his wife's charges were ridiculous and an "unfair reflection upon the Catholic Church."
