Ex-Marine held in knife slaying, boy, 12, testifies

Los Angeles, California...Bill Stewart, (left), holds his head in his hands, his face a study in remorse, after a coroner's jury had him held in connection with the slaying of Mrs. Miriam Evelyn Lake in Hermosa Beach, Calif. Stewart, a discharged marine, who has seen service in the Korean campaign, said he had met Mrs. Lake a short while ago. Charles Pratt, (right), 12, points an accusing finger at Stewart as he identifies, him as the man he saw leaving Mrs. Lake's home after he heard a woman's screams. The boy, driven by curiosity, peered through the window and saw the woman, dead from knife wounds, lying on the floor.
