To the left, on the bank of the river, Siegfried advances and blows his horn. He is dressed in a short tunic and his shield and spear hang to the side. The three Daughters of the Rhine are seen entirely naked . One, seen from the front, has a crown of flowers on her hair. She sits on the bank and raises her right arm. Her sister moves her head behind her. The youngest, is in the foreground with long, scattered blond hair and is seen in profile. There is greenery in the background and a dark cloud in the middle of the sky.
