To the right, on the bank of the river, Siegfried advances, dressed in a short tunic and with his horn on the side. On the left, the three girls of the Rhine are fully naked. One maiden in the front sits on the bank and raises her right arm. She has a crown of flowers on her black hair. Her sister moves her head behind her. The youngest maiden, with long, scattered blond hair, is seen in profile through the reeds. Greenery is all around. (Wagner, Götterdämmerung, act III)
