Office Orchid. This is another in a series of Office Orchids, a weekly biographical sketch highlighting one of Boston's career women. Finding sunken Spanish galeons off the Peruvian coast is one of the interests of zestful, life-loving, people-loving Gloria Smith. Her deep interest in people is useful in her real estate business at 110 Mt. Vernon St. She has her own system of making happy matches between individual clients and their future Beacon Hill or Back Bay homes or apartments. "It's a matter of responding to people at a deep level of my mind," she says. "Sometimes I talk with a family about everything except real estate. Then suddenly I see them in a certain environment and say, 'I've got just what you want.' Usually it proves right." Gloria Smith aided the poverty-stricken people of a Peruvian village and helped them. The Peruvian government granted her the right of search and salvage along the central coast.
