Gainesville attorney shot

Mrs. Carol W. Scott, a Gainesville civil rights attorney, was shot early this morning in the upper left chest while she was in her home. Mrs. Scott filed suit in federal Court to have the Raiford State Prison taken over by Federal authorities following disturbances there last week. Mrs. Scott is in a local hospital where her condition is serious. Police are holding a suspect.
