Bone, Muirhead, Sir, 1876-1953 · 1906
The huge movable scaffolding, from which the subject derives its name, extends across the centre of the plate beneath the arched glass roof of the station. In the foreground is a group of workmen, two of whom are hauling at a rope attached to a cradle which swings beneath the roof towards the left. These places lightened again. This state is distinguished from the second state by the presence of the signature.
