A Happy Colonel Ruppert, owner of the New York Yankees, was in fine fettle night of Oct. 10. At a Victory dinner he beamed and put his arms on the shoulders of two of his stalwarts, Lefty Gomez (left) and Tony Lazzeri. The boys played a large part in winning the world championship title from the New York Giants. Fifth and final game, Gomez hurled the Yanks to a 4-2 triumph.
