Glass Recycling Program Starts -- Joseph Murray supervises Ginny Zurowski feed glass containers into a bottle smashing machine at a soft drink bottling company plant in Newburyport, Mass., starting a state-wide recycling collection program. The couple inspect crushed glass, right, that will be shipped to a plant in Dayville, Conn., the only glass factory in New England. Thirty-two recycling centers have been opened in the state for the collection of newspapers, cans and bottles.
