Split in Two by Flood--This aerial view shows flood of rampaging Naugatuck River here today which split the city of 104,000 in half. Its mayor, Raymond E. Snyder said the destruction was “the worst in history” and “just unbelievable. The Naugatuck, racing along at 50 miles an hour, poured over its banks. This picture was taken from a Sikorsky S-58 helicopter, one of scores of both military and civilian ‘copters aiding in disaster relief.
