Esther is Barred -- A local merchant stands in front of his store day after boarding up the glass front and to add a bit of levity to the stormy weather painted this sign on the wood, "Open To The Public-Closed To Esther", referring to the Hurricane which is now expected to vent its fury further north of the city.
